#32 Golden Eagle
Revered, fearsome raptors, Golden Eagles hunt for jackrabbits and other small mammals in North America’s wild, open country, particularly in the West. Their golden nape is a signature field mark. These large, dark-brown birds occupy an important place in many Indigenous cultures in North America, and they’re also found in Europe and Asia.
This patch celebrates HawkWatch International, a non-profit that monitors and safeguards the long-term health of this special bird.
