North America’s smallest and most widespread falcon, the American Kestrel can be found perched on roadside fences as well as on rooftops in the densest cities. For their size, they’re fearsome predators, and their shrill call often announces their presence. They hunt by rapidly beating their wings to hover in place, scanning open territory below for grasshoppers or other small prey.

Dimensions: 1.75" wide x 1.75" tall.
100% Nylon.

All embroidered bird patches have an iron-on backing, but the adhesive is temporary. For durability, we recommend sewing or using a permanent, flexible fabric glue.

This patch is inspired by the Grassland Bird Trust, a nonprofit preserving open habitat in upstate New York that kestrels depend on.
Shipping & Returns

Patches ship separately from other items. To maintain low shipping costs, patches are sent in an envelope via USPS first class letter mail without tracking, except for orders containing 4 patches or more.

Domestic patch orders: Allow 5-15 business days for delivery after shipping notification.

International patch orders: Allow 10-28 business days for delivery after shipping notification.

The patches themselves are beautiful and well-made, and I have bought quite a few over several orders. However, the last batch I bought (about 5-6 patches) were glued onto the backing cards so strongly that the iron-on interface tore off from some of the patches when I removed them. Thankfully I had the materials (iron-on interfacing) and the experience to fix it, but for someone else, it might mean the patch is ruined. Otherwise — I am very pleased with the patches.
