I was so excited for this hat but it is huge! I had to cinch it as tight as it would go which makes it bunch up in the back so much that it looks stupid on me. It's even big on my husband's head. Really bummed about it.

If I could give it 4.9/5 I would. It fits well, high quality, and it looks even better than expected. However, the adjustable back has no place to tuck in the excess strap leaving it to just hang off the back of the hat. It’s a small thing, but every hat I have ever had with an adjustable strap has had a place to insert the excess into the hat. Now the strap dangles, looking weird and often making me feel like a big is crawling on my neck.

4 Stars - Great Hat, But Size Runs Large
I love this Loon hat! The material is fantastic, and it's incredibly durable. However, it's made for a fairly large head. I wouldn't say I have a very small head since I usually do fine with five-panel hats, but I do run on the smaller side. I have long wavy hair, which usually adds some volume, but even with that, I had to tighten it all the way and even cut off some of the adjustment strap. Despite it being all the way tightened, it still sits over my ears sometimes. This hat would be ideal for someone with a lot of hair or who needs extra room. I still wear it because I love it, but that's the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars!

LOVE!!!!!!!! Generous fit but also tightens down. Would be nice if adjustable strap could be slid into the other side so the excess tail doesn’t hang down. The first of many more Bird Collective hats that are a must have!

This hat is absolutely awesome. Really nice stitching work, the colour is great and it is lightweight and cool for summertime. As others have mentioned the strap is a little long in the back but you can modify if you have some sewing skills or just tuck it away so it's no big deal.
My only gripe is not with the hat but with Bird Collective. I ordered a t-shirt alongside this hat. I first checked the price of the hat with shipping. And when I added the shirt a $10 fee was added to shipping even though it came in the same box. In addition, if you are shipping to Canada like I did Bird Collective made me claim customs - even though the prices are premium and I paid shipping - so I had another $18 bill waiting for me just to collect my items. No qualms supporting this company and bird research, etc. but the added shipping cost and customs left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

I really like the loon patch and the color of the hat. It is very large. I have to adjust it pretty far in to fit my head and that leaves a long trail of webbing. It would be nice to have a slot to tuck that in to so it’s not flopping around. A lot of my other hats come with this feature.

I love the loon patch and color of the hat. However, it is quite big. I wish there was a spot to hide the extra webbing when it is tightened down to fit my smaller head. It looks a bit silly to have a large strap flopping around in back

I absolutely love this hat! I have a big noggin, and this thing fits more comfortably than any hat I’ve ever had. (I imagine it fits just fine on smaller heads too, but boy is it hard for me to find hats that fit right). Love the look, and it’s great for comfort/style as well as outdoor active use. If they made more of these in different colors and with different patches, I’d buy a whole collection in a heartbeat.

The hat was honestly super big on me and I already have a big head. When I tightened the straps to make it fit, there was nowhere to tuck it so it just looked a little fun and also tightening the hat made the fabric bunch up. The quality of the material was good though and the design was cute, it just wasn't functional and I ended up returning it.

The hat seems to be of good quality but it’s really deep/large and therefore looks really awkward if you’re a woman or have a smaller head. I’m guessing that’s why the pic they have for the product is of the hat backwards. They should offer sizes
